Reflections on 2016

To say the election of donald trump surprised me would be an understatement. Not because of his racist, misogynistic, bigoted and hateful campaign, but because I thought amerikkans were better than this. This low down, snake oil selling con artist. I was wrong and I was right. With almost 2 million more actual votes than trump, there really are good people in this country. I want you to reflect on that irregardless of who you voted for. There is NO fucking OTHER. If you feel someone is beneath you, you bought into the con. For just like you, the con artist is only looking out for himself. The difference is he is empowered to take what he wants at the expense of an entire country, even those who protest still. While this is a more personal rant than I anticipated, I am no longer angry or depressed. We have the power to fight back and are fighting back. Every day. happy thanksgiving The fact that so many organizations who are on the front line have been galvanized with members and money brings me hope. If that many people have seen the future and said hell no, then I stand in good company. There is no need to be politically correct. If there is one thing that needs to die a certain death it is and should be political correctness. So, let’s stop playing word games and call a bigot a bigot. Or a racist, neo-nazi or just hateful. Let us start with telling the truth to each other and those who think the only great amerikka is a white amerikka. If you agree with that philosophy, you are on the wrong site. Just google "hate sites" and you will have enough to keep your uneducated ass happy for a long, long time. So, as I get in the groove of cooking and listening to some great music from the 80’s and 90’s, I thought it was safe to unload right here and right now. It is my site after all... Hebrews 11:1 King James Version “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” In spite of all the evidence to the contrary, my faith is strong, my spirit is at peace. There will be only 2 more posts this year. While my faith is strong, I still need some damn EVIDENCE! I may or may not bring back the weekly angel cards in 2017. Thanks for reading. Enjoy your Thanksgiving.

Merry Christmas!

Christmas is my favorite time of year. It is the best time to go to court, avoid a ticket (except DUI) and get away with a little extra at work. Mostly everyone is happy. Since my children are adults, I am overjoyed that I now can spend my time looking for presents for me, me and ME! James St. Clair Joking aside, with no pressure associated with the holiday season, I am free to bake, clean, cook, and party to my heart's content. This year, most of my gifts had already been purchased before Thanksgiving, a major feat for me. I have been blessed this year in getting all my "needs" accomplished in a timely manner, and in my favor. Thank you GOD for the blessings and challenges of 2015. Some of you will remember the challenges of my baby sister. I am happy to report she has amazed her doctors and is doing splendidly. In fact, she is a rock star! I am SO Glad she will be here this Christmas! Thank you so much for visiting my site. May you be blessed, this Christmas Day and every day. God loves EACH of us. Remember that in the good and especially in the bad times. Merry Christmas! Thanks Saint, for letting me use your Divine Night image!

Happy Thanksgiving and Happy GIVING!

Happy Thanksgiving! I want to take the time to wish you and your loved ones a most joyous and happy Thanksgiving. As we enter the final stretch of the year and the season of joy and giving, I have a short message for you. This year has been brutal and uplifting, often in the same week. Time IS speeding up. If you are on the spiritual path, you feel this almost like a quicking. We no longer have the option of behaving badly. Karma is a bitch and she moves swiftly these days. I am at the point that I duck when I have done something awful, or immediately move to repair and cancel the damage. thanksgiving As we enjoy all the great food, there are others who are not as fortunate. If you have folks on your Christmas list who literally have EVERYTHING, I offer a gift that will work for you and them. Consider charitable giving. At this time, I can afford to give others the blessed gift of a tax donation AND help my favorite charities. It creates the ultimate in win/win scenarios. If you know what charity they would support, by all means, choose that charity. However, if you do not know, spread your money wisely and fund some of YOUR favorites. We are all in this together. My republican leaning cousin asked me how we are supposed to pay for all the good things that people deserve. You know, like decent housing and excellent schools, after care for children and food for everyone. I told her we pay by each one helping one other. Just imagine, the world would be like Christmas 365! Thanks for reading! Enjoy your Thanksgiving. If you have any charity suggestions, by all means please comment below. Add the link as well. To avoid being SCAMMED, please check out all charities at Charity Watch. Also, beware of Phone Calls, soliciting information. You can always ask them to put something in the mail. If they don't want to - hang up! ATTRIBUTE: Image from flickr.com http://www.flickr.com/photos/99849138@N00/1816575

Today's Daily WORD!

Today I prayed for my worries to be resolved. I sent a prayer to Silent Unity, not knowing if I could handle the kindness they show to every caller. When they answer the phone "How can I pray with you?" the sense of immediate relief just washes your cares away. If YOU are in need of prayer, they answer the phone 24/7. You may also submit prayers by email and they will email you a response or mail you a letter. It is one of the most amazing things you can do for yourself or others. Please take advantage of the loving and grace they freely share. After I submitted my prayer request, I checked out the Daily Word. As I saw the Word - GRATITUDE, I also clearly heard "It IS DONE" I felt the relief and release of a load being lifted off my shoulders. God is in the load lifting business. Give him yours, TODAY! 075 Gratitude Friday, August 21, 2015 GRATITUDE RELEASES A POWERFUL FLOW OF GOOD IN MY LIFE. My optimism and grateful heart are sources of strength for me. If I have a medical test, I expect the results to show I am in good health. I know a change in plans is a change for the better. And I patiently await answers to prayers—trusting in divine order. I confidently seek new opportunities and try new things. I give thanks for what I desire before I receive it. My attitude of gratitude releases a powerful flow of God’s good in every area of my life. My grateful heart is an open vessel into which God’s blessings flow. Good flows to me and through me. I may receive unexpected income, discover a new hobby, or run into a long-lost friend. Wonderful things occur in my state of gratitude and grace. You shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall be successful. —Joshua 1:8 Thanks for reading.Have a blessed and amazing weekend! Listen To Your Mother Baltimore, 2015

I have not had the opportunity to share my reading ensemble experience with Listen To Your Mother, so I will do so now. Having just reviewed the gorgeous pictures from Jen Snyder Photo, I was filled with both gratitude and appreciation for our entire team. Jen is an alumna from the 2014 Listen To Your Mother family. Now, we have collectively joined the entire family around the United States. Listen To Your Mother, Michelle D. Smtih The past three months have brought many changes to my personal life. My baby sister Patty had a MASSIVE heart attack on March 18, 2015, one that caused her leg to be amputated and the right side of her heart to no longer function. Listen To Your Mother, Michelle D. Smith This was just days after our first meeting and rehearsal. Yet, this group of amazing women lifted me and my family in prayer, light and love and have sustained that loving energy. Patty is still in the hospital and not yet out of the woods. Today, however, I know there are miracles, we have witnessed several with Patty's continued and amazing ability to bounce back. Please keep Patty and my family in your prayers. We all were presented with a different kind of challenge with the Baltimore riots. During the unrest, Anne Mathe created friendship bracelets for each of us. We took this picture right before we walked on stage. Listen to Your Mother Baltimore The Listen To Your Mother experience taught me, a person who never thought of myself as being afraid what actual fear is -speaking in front of a large group of people who purchased tickets in support of both the women and the basic premise of the show. The premise is, we, as humans are far more alike then we are different and it is time we recognize and acknowledge this as fact. This play could not have taken place without the love, dedication, grace and sheer determination of Taya Dunn Johnson and Arlene Jackson. Both have been spiritual warriors on behalf of any of us when it was needed. Their light, sense of humor and stern guidance gave us the wind we needed to take flight. I must say, if you have the opportunity next year to attend in your city, please TAKE IT! If you would like to check out Listen To Your Mother, Baltimore please click on the link. Taya Dunn Johnson, Arlene Jackson, Jen Synder, Listen To Your Mother Baltimore There will ALWAYS be haters and bigots. These are small, narrow minded people who simply MUST have someone to look down upon in order to feel they are "special". We are ALL SPECIAL. Wake up and pay attention to what your gift is. There is an entire world waiting for YOU! Time to get to work! As always, thanks for reading! Michelle

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. A Day for Service NOT shopping! To allow Dr. Martin Luther King’s sacrifice of his life for justice and equality be turned into another “marketing holiday” is a travesty. We, and I include all people are now understanding that our $$$$$ have power, how we $pend and who we $pend with. Use your $$$$$ to support companies and products that promote diversity, dignity and justice and emboldens the human spirit in each of us. There are plenty of money grubbers who will literally do anything For a $ and to $ave a $ - are you one of them? I Have A Dream! By James St. Claire Please enjoy this picture of Dr. King by the gifted artist, Saint. Have a wonderful and productive holiday. I have included some memories of another family member who passed away this week. Feel free to read if you so desire. As we reflect on the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, please also give thanks for the elders in your family. Take the time to call them at least every other week. Stop by to see them and bring them something special to eat or drink. These are very small gestures but they are life affirming for those who often feel forgotten or neglected. Charles "Smokey" Jones has been a feared fixture in my life for over 40 years. I was an unruly teen when I met him and he scared me shitless. His was THE voice of authority, and he has been listened to by all of us - his original 9, all their friends and now all the children of friends and family alike. Until a few years ago, both my niece and my daughter thought they WERE family, blood relatives and they are. What I will remember most about Pop is how happy he was to hear from me - Every Single Time. Of course, he would lay me out if I had missed a week, but then we were back to our regular conversations about nothing. I will miss calling and speaking with him. I will miss his voice. I will miss another person who was always happy to see me or hear from me. I will miss Charles "Smokey" Jones. Your rest is well deserved. Don't party to hard with Ms. Rita! Thanks for reading my reflections. Comments or criticisms are always welcome. Enjoy your Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

Happy ThanksGiving To You!

While all is not well in the world, today we take the time to share ThanksGiving. Thank God for all the blessings as they flow. Thank God for all who made it through, and for those who are no longer with us. Give thanks for your family and friends. Take the time this week to reach out to those you have not spoken with for a while. Your smallest gesture could mean the world to someone who needs to hear a WORD of encouragement, of support, of being remembered. So many people feel both alone and lonely. Your calls, cards and emails will brighten their day! Thanksgiving My neighbor just bought me some Cool Whip. A very small gesture, but she heard me when I said I had forgotten to buy some and had NO intention of heading back to the store. God Bless you Elmyra! My whole family says Thanks! Thank You for being on this journey with me and millions of others in search of a better world for each of us. Happy Thanksgiving!
