I am a RAVENS FANATIC! All year long, our team has been disrespected by every media team outside of Baltimore. Sure, I know Baltimore has a “bad image” and there are many misconceptions as to who we are as a city and the Ravens are as a team.
I am a native New Yorker, but Baltimore is now my home. What I can tell you is this is a city of grit, of hard work, of fierce loyalties and extreme competitiveness. The more disrespect we receive, the tighter our bonds get.
I predicted a Super Bowl for the Ravens back in November. I even asked a fake friend to let me know if he got playoff tickets (supposedly he had season tix, but alas, he was a LIAR). Even then, he was incredulous. Not a Raven fan, the “tix” were supposedly a business investment for his “clients”. His response was – “You think the Ravens will be in the playoffs?” My response was – The RAVENS are going to the Superbowl!
I, like my city never, ever stopped believing. Each and every playoff game, the odds were against us. We would not beat Andrew Luck, – yea right. His LUCK stopped in BMOre.
We could never beat Peyton Manning and Denver, yet in one of the best games of the season, we DID! Still the disrespect continued. NE Patriots were next. Again, we would never beat Tom Brady – even though we had ALREADY beat NE earlier this year. We beat them to advance to the SUPER BOWL!
Never one to skip a beat, the media immediately crowned the young and untested Colin Kaepernick as the second coming. No idea what goes on in media world but they SURE got this wrong, not once, but FOUR TIMES!
How many of us could mess up on a job four times and have a job? How many regular folks who get paid to be unbiased could show such anti Raven bias in each and every game? I have no idea, but I am glad that once again, the Ravens proved them all WRONG!
As Ray #52 Lewis said, “No Weapon Formed Against Us WILL PROSPER” and NO weapon, not Luck, Manning, Brady, Kaepernic, black out or media disrespect did.
Stay YOUR course. Never, ever let another person define YOU. Never give your power away. You are the only person on the planet who can determine the outcome of your life. DO what you need to do and do it with passion, conviction, integrity and every ounce of grit you can muster. You are the answer to every question you will ever have.
God Bless you. Be VICTORIOUS in your life!
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.
